For You Telecare Family Service (FUTFS) assists individuals and families from all walks of life to overcome cultural, emotional, and psychological barriers through a wide range of counselling and educational services and programs. In collaboration with other social service organizations, FUTFS raises awareness of social issues and supports clients in the community through the progression of a healthy lifestyle and gradual integration into Canadian society.

The 38th Counselling Education & Volunteer Training Program

The 38th Counselling Education and Volunteer Training program will start on April 12th, every Wednesday from 1 pm to 3 pm. This is 8 sessions; 5 sessions are online and 3 sessions are in-person. (More detailed information is on the Flyer and our website.)

This is an educational program for basic understanding of telephone counseling, as well as developing counseling skills and attitudes as a volunteer. Upon completion of this program, you will be given the opportunity and qualification to serve as a telephone counselor at For You Telecare Family Service(FUTFS).

The ENE Project: Expressive art workshop through Computer Animation

Part of The ENE Project, this workshop is geared toward learning the skills to express emotions and thoughts using computer animation. It has begun on March 29th and will run every Tuesday from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm in 8 sessions. David Lee of the Bauhaus Academy of Fine Arts is lecturing all sessions. 16 volunteer hours will provide each day of participation. If the participants attend all the sessions fully, they will be given an additional 4 hours, so for a total of 20 hours. Volunteer hours are included your Portfolio completion.

The ENE Project: Youth Focus Group

For You Telecare Family Service (FUTFS) is currently recruiting high school students from Grade 11 to 12 for the Focus Group as part of our Embracement and Empowerment (ENE) Project. The participants will meet in person in FUTFS’s seminar room (#212) on Tuesday April 12, starting from 5:00 pm to 7:00 p.m. As part of this project, we are working to identify and understand the pressures and challenges youth are facing during COVID-19. This is not an educational workshop, rather a small group activity.  Participation is voluntary; three volunteer hours and a gift will be given upon completion.
