for Volunteers
What if you apply to it as a volunteer?
If you apply to it as a volunteer, you will assist English conversation of participants in terms of their correctness (for English Cafe), or do volunteer work at a nursing home by singing (for Singalong).

FUTFS provides weekly meetings and education classes for volunteers in order to train them to qualify the requirements requested by both the Korean Canadian and Canadian Society. The one is English Cafe which focuses on increasing English skills of participants through continuous English classes and conversations, and the other one is a Singalong class meant to volunteer well. We welcome all the participants who are interested in these meetings and activities. Especially, we recruit singalong group volunteers who can provide outreach services to weak and isolated individuals, groups, organization, and nursing homes. By looking back to activities in 2019, it reminds us of the genuine and right spirit of volunteering which can be obtained by sharing with others pleasantly. Although we cannot share lots of things, we experience how the small happiness and pleasantness are so important to feel the meaning of life and worthwhile.
There are lots of things in the qualifications of volunteers, but we learn 4 necessary qualifications:
- Caring: The ability to care and sympathize with.
- Motivation: Desire to share the worry, pain, and difficulty of people who wants to be helped.
- Emotional Stable Strength: Having endurable emotional stability when we share the worry, pain, difficulty of other people who gets helped.
- Communication Ability/Skills: Ability to listen closely and respond to them with sensitivity and receptive capacity.
