2022 Korea Week - "Special Korea-Canada Music Concert"

□ In commemoration of the Korean Heritage Month in Ontario in October 2022, The Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Toronto will hold the 5th event of "2022 Korean Week" - “the 2022 Korean Week Special Korea-Canada Music Concert”. The First half of the concert will be Korean songs and the Second half of the concert will be classical music, which will make it easier to understand and enjoy Eastern and Western music through different performances.

- Date: October 29, 2022 (Sat.) 7:00 pm

- Place: Yorkminster Park Baptist Church

2. Target: Public, Anyone interested in classical music

3. Details of the event

□ Korean music (part 1) is about nostalgic Korean folk songs to the national anthem, joined by the soloists Limore, Samuel, Hwaeun with TKCC. In Western music (Part 2), classical music such as If Ye Love Me and Beethoven Choral Fantasia op 80 will be played, and the last song Prequel to Beethoven's 'Ode to Joy', Choral Fantasy op 80 will be performed as a final piece and there will be close to 100 Musicians including a full orchestra, piano solo, TKCC Choir, Choristers from CCOC (Canadian Children's Opera Company) and Toronto Mendelssohn Choir. This is a very special opportunity to deliver and give back music to the community.

□ Special Korea-Canada Music Concert is free to public, and those who wish to watch can order and receive tickets through the Eventbrite.

□ Maestro Yisak Isaac Seo who has graduated from Juilliard School of Music in NYC, is an active adjudicator, pianist and music director of TKCC Choir and OYMCO orchestra and he was one of the two Canadian pianists to compete in the International Chopin competition and the International Queen Elizabeth competition.

The Korean Consulate in Toronto wants to present a concert that every communities can gather together and enjoy classical music and Korean folk songs. We would be appreciated for your interest and participation for the event.
